The EDI Unit at LSE is part of the institution’s central policy-making and strategic planning. The LSE Strategy 2030 highlights our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and to taking relevant action throughout the institution to progress matters in this area. The EDI Office is key to realising our ambition to create an inclusive home for learning and working, and enable every student and staff member to excel.
The primary focus of the role of Head of EDI will be to provide specialist strategic advice and direction to progress and implement the LSE EDI Strategy and related Action Plan, as well as leading the EDI team. The successful candidate will work with the School’s EDI Advisory Board and Senior Management Committee to deliver pragmatic and timely operational imperatives. Working with key stakeholders School-wide and externally, the Head will help to raise the positive profile of EDI activity across LSE, and ensure plans are in place to achieve institutional aspirations and objectives.
Candidates should have substantial specialist in-depth knowledge of EDI matters and obligations facing the Higher Education sector, as well as a proven record of having successfully delivered against complex EDI objectives and strategic plans. The ability to lead, influence and motivate to progress work on behalf of senior stakeholders is essential, as is a resilient and pragmatic approach to operational delivery and raising the profile and understanding of EDI activity.
